WHy teaching tours

Many schools today, for a number of reasons, take few if any field trips of substance.

Unfortunately, a surprising number of students from the Richmond area have never been to Washington, D.C. or stepped onto a college campus.

Students, particularly those from lower income families, need these experiences.

Teaching Tours will help fulfill these needs.

STUDIES SHOW

Studies show that students, especially adolescents, learn the most from experiential learning.  They need to be out of the school buildings to see, smell, taste, touch, and hear the world that only field trips offer.

When students have these experiences, they begin to see the larger picture of education and make deeper connections between what they learn and what they can accomplish.
